INTRODUCTION <\/strong>Prayer is incense that comes into and before God\u2019s Throne. \u201cAnd the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel’s hand.\u201d (Revelation 8:4) Prayer is a sweet smelling savor that gets God\u2019s attention. \u201cLet us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.\u201d (Hebrews 4:16) Prayer is what brings us into God\u2019s presence. Therefore, prayer is what any believer should learn, understand, and use to bring our service to the Father for His Glory. Weakness in prayer is the most misunderstood reason for weakness in today\u2019s believers. This weakness is at the core of today\u2019s apostate church. It is the believer\u2019s responsibility to learn all he can about effective prayer. This doctrine is dedicated to the end of equipping the believer for effective prayer.Those who abide not in sound doctrine are not of God and are not to be received. (2 John 9-10).\u201cAs believers, we are to abide in and depend upon sound doctrine. Sound doctrine is not a figment of human imagination, but it is based on the eternal truth of God. The whole point of Baptist Doctrine is to know what God\u2019s Word says is sound doctrine. That is the focal point of the following topics based on sound doctrine.\u201d The forgoing words were the start of Doctrine One, The Bible. So also, let these words start us with the Doctrine of Prayer.Many are the books written about prayer and many are the authors of those books. Some are sound in doctrine and some are not. What follows will be based upon what scripture both Old and New have to say about prayer. Also included will be thoughts and methods of some of the great prayer warriors of the past. We will end with ideas and ways that today\u2019s believer can implement some of the best thoughts and practices in prayer. May God bless you as you read and heed.<\/li>\n
