RE: Statement in Chapter 2 of SQ2.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Dear Tom,<\/span><\/p>\n

As we have previously discussed, I will try to shed some light on the questions that were raised. I will try to address them one at a time with some short explanatory notes. We had talked about our favorite subject \u201cTruth.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On page 21 of Chapter 2, I ended a paragraph with the following statement:\u00a0 \u201cThat foundation<\/strong> for understanding is truth<\/strong>. Not what man bends and fashions it to mean, but truth that is timeless and unbending, never changing whether in time and space or in the timelessness of eternity.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

It seems that statement needs to be clarified a little. Let me see if my thinking is still lucid. In the paragraph before, I am talking about \u201cIn the beginning\u201d things and mankind\u2019s approach. It seems that we humans are fascinated with finding explanations for how things \u201cwork.\u201d We bend over backward trying to find explanations, either mechanical or by deductive reasoning for how the things we see in our physical world work. Our \u201csight\u201d in these things is so impacted by physical limitations, that we cannot comprehend that \u201cspiritual\u201d factors may be influencing what we see because we cannot prove the existence of a \u201cspiritual realm.\u201d Because as people, we think we can know all things and the truths they contain. However, there are two huge factors that stand in our way. One, man cannot know all of the information that is contained in our universe. That encompasses all knowledge since the beginning of time until the end of time. There are things we cannot know or will never know, therefore our knowledge is limited. Two, Anything outside of our physical world is mostly a mystery to us. If the spiritual world and the physical world are intertwined as I indicate in SQ2, how can our knowledge be even close to accurate? <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Now add to this the common tendency of our present global society to define truth in many different ways, how can we ever know what truth really is? Without an eternal, unchanging foundation as a basis for truth, our best knowledge is very fluid and unstable. Most prominent thinking nowadays is that there is no source for unbending absolute<\/span> truth. Mankind\u2019s pride and ego says that he must be able to know truth; but how can that which is limited know that which is unlimited? Simply put, he can\u2019t. It is for this reason that humankind stands upon that precipice. One step in the wrong direction and he is destroyed. This is the reason why he lacks a solid foundation for understanding. As long as humans refuse to acknowledge the impact of the spiritual upon the physical, he will continue to sink deeper and deeper into a self destructive mindset. <\/span><\/p>\n
